United to End Racism (UER) at the World Social Forum in Kenya, 2007 and Caracas, 2006

The seventh World Social Forum was held in Nairobi, Kenya in January 2007. There were 66,000 registered attendees, and 1,400 participating organizations from 110 countries, making it the most globally representative WSF so far. A small group of RCers from the US worked with the Kenyan RC Community to present workshops on ending racism and the fundamentals of RC.

Caracas, Venezuela, January, 2006

UER sent a small delegation to the World Social Forum in Caracas, Venezuela, in January 2006 to lead four workshops, in Spanish and English, on Healing the Damage Caused by Racism and The Role of White People in Ending Racism. The World Social Forum describes itself as: "an open meeting place for reflective thinking, democratic debate of ideas, formulation of proposals, free exchange of experiences and interlinking for effective action, by groups and movements of civil society that are opposed to neoliberalism and to domination of the world by capital and any form of imperialism, and are committed to building a planetary society directed towards fruitful relationships among Humankind and between it and the Earth." This was UER's first time to attend the World Social Forum.
