Harvey
This was my first Passover without Harvey in close to twenty-nine years. It reminds me of the sessions I still need to do and the rich foundation Harvey gave us, particularly around Passover.
Harvey went to many seders (and stayed up late into the night) as he led his important Passover workshops in Israel. He understood the liberation basis of the Jewish tradition and pioneered the use of the seder in RC as a way of us coming together on that basis.
At one RC conference in Israel he emphasized his direction of being a "real Jew" and invited everyone to join him. He stood tall and proud, wearing a beautiful yarmulke, and modeled the features of what he considered the essence of being Jewish -- intelligence, courage, and integrity.
