The Role of the Climate Emergency Coordinator

The role of the coordinator can be as big as you want. Do any or all of these things:

1. Make sure the work on the Unified Goal is happening in your Region or constituency.

2. What could be done in a Community or constituency to move the work on the climate emergency and the Unified Goal forward. What has worked that we should do again? What could we try that we haven’t? Ask your ARPs, RRP, ILRP, and other leaders what ideas they have.

3. What would be helpful for people to support their counseling and constituency work regarding climate change, both in and out of RC?

4. Who could do a good job leading the things that you and your Reference People prioritize? In consultation with Reference People, encourage people to lead, or lead events yourself.

5. Encourage RCers who are already involved in climate work and bring new RCers to the work.

6. Build connections, get people working together in groups, have a buddy yourself.

7. Encourage support groups: A key issue for us is to get the people in our Regions and constituencies discharging about the climate emergency, and discharging on the early hurts that keep us from being able to think well about it and what actions make sense for us to take. Local support groups can be an important place for that work to happen. Please consider leading a support group (so you have one for yourself!) or backing others to lead them.

8. Encourage people to use the short draft program on climate change (a beautiful PDF can be downloaded).

Le rôle du coordinateur peut être aussi important que vous le souhaitez - faites tout ou partie de ces choses:

1. S'assurer que le travail sur l'objectif unifié a lieu dans votre région ou votre circonscription.

5. Encouragez les membres de la CR qui sont déjà impliqués dans le travail sur le climat et amenez de nouveaux membres de la CR à participer à ce travail.

6. Établissez des connexions, faites travailler les gens ensemble dans des groupes, ayez un copain vous-même.

7. Encourager les groupes de soutien: Il est essentiel pour nous d'amener les habitants de nos régions et de nos circonscriptions à s'interroger sur l'urgence climatique et sur les premières blessures qui nous empêchent de bien réfléchir à la question et aux mesures qu'il serait judicieux de prendre. Les groupes de soutien locaux peuvent être un lieu important pour ce travail. Nous vous invitons à envisager de diriger un groupe de soutien (afin d'en avoir un pour vous-même!) ou de soutenir d'autres personnes pour qu'elles les dirigent.

8. Encourager les gens à utiliser le projet de programme sur le changement climatique. Le projet de programme court mis à jour est désormais affiché sur le site web, et un beau PDF sera bientôt disponible.
