A Paradigm Shift
Last November I was privileged to attend the Allies to Muslims Workshop, led on Zoom by Azi Khalili (International Liberation Reference Person for South, Central, and West Asian-Heritage People) and Dvora Slavin (Regional Reference Person for South King County, Washington, and Hawaii, USA).
That there are “no human enemies” is profound and revolutionary. We have been manipulated into believing there are human enemies.
Being an ally is a huge contradiction to the oppressive society, which says that no one is on your side. The notion of being an ally to oneself and everyone is revolutionary. And limiting that in any way is a slippery slope [a path to irrationality].
Building relationships is our birthright. We need to transform relationships from exploitation into caring.
There was a paradigm shift—I went from having my head full of misinformation to seeing and thinking clearly (though I am still “a work in progress”).
