Self-Appreciation

At our recent RC Community Class meeting, I introduced Topic 14 in the Fundamentals Teaching Guide and Class Outline for Pioneer RC Communities (Part I): “Self-Appreciation and Not Feeling Bad about Ourselves.”

As human beings, we all have excellent qualities. But distress patterns do interfere with them. They also make some of us feel bad about ourselves and not appreciate ourselves. We humans always strive to do our best in every situation, and when things do not work the way we envisage, we often feel bad and put the blame on ourselves.

It is always wrong to blame ourselves. The oppressive society tends to make us preoccupied with self-blame, self-criticism, and self-invalidation. To overcome this mindset, we must always appreciate ourselves, validate ourselves at every moment, and discharge the hurtful experiences.

My highlight was sharing a quote by Harvey Jackins: “There is no situation in which the human being does not deserve your delight.”
