Goals on All Levels at Once

“Save the world” recordings [distress recordings] that produce obsessive activity on behalf of humankind to the neglect of oneself and one’s family . . . make one ineffective on all levels. Those who neglect self and family are not effective in their exhortations to their fellow humans for support on the larger causes. The individual who is a poor parent to his or her family weakens the effectiveness of his or her appeal on behalf of an endangered species or for rescuing of the atmosphere from pollution. One needs goals on all levels at once.
