What follows is part of an e-mail to my brothers and sisters (six out of seven are on e-mail). I was telling them what my family was up to lately, and when I got to talking about myself, this is what I said:

"I have a Co-Counseling group for working-class people going now. It's great. I don't think I've ever been able to tell you what my involvement in this counseling is about. One of my goals is for regular folks to regain their confidence and faith in themselves to set up their lives and their communities in such a way that people aren't hurting people or the environment. What's so great about this is that it takes sound thinking on many different levels to reach this goal. So you have to be able to think well about all different types of issues and struggles people have around society and other people. Through Co-Counseling I'm in touch with many people who do some pretty smart stuff that improves the world, and I benefit from their thinking. There's a Co-Counseling web site at www.rc.org if you are interested in reading some of the literature."
