Turn the Determination to the Positive Direction
At the Wide World Change Workshop, Susal Stebbins from Minnesota, USA suggested that people try a modification of the approach Harvey developed for counseling on avoiding nuclear holocaust ("It is not going to happen because . . .") and think about their vision for society and say, "It is going to happen because . . . ." The phrase seemed to provide a contradiction to despair and hopelessness, and the discharge was profound.
