Backpacking Mountains for Variety
I have had the most glorious four days backpacking alone. I had quite a big fall on a snowy north-facing steep slope-I never knew I would slide so fast! Only got bruises-whew. And it brought my attention out great! I saw my first bear ever. I love being out here so, so much. Every butterfly, every flower, every tree seem like they are singing to me. And the moon at night is so pure. I have terrible, terrible blisters on my feet, and my back is aching from the weight of my pack, and now I am going to have to pack up the tent wet, so it will weigh even more. But I do not care. I love it being out in this wild, wild place and feeling the benign reality as a force.
