1. Healing From War
This workshop will enable people to begin healing from the hurts due
to war, whether they are civilians, past or present members of armed forces,
or their descendants. War is the ultimate human irrationality. It causes
great loss of life and emotional harm to the people who do survive. Even
people far away from a war are affected. The distress and coping mechanisms
installed during war or genocide get passed down from generation to
generation in ways that are often confusing to everyone. Whether our
experiences with war are direct, through stories told by our parents or
other relatives, from history books, or from the media, we can heal from
them by talking about our feelings to an attentive listener.

2. Healing the Damage Caused by Racism
Societies and governments often try to manipulate their
citizens, using racism to confuse people, in order to justify invasion,
destruction, and exploitation. We can, however, free ourselves from the
hurts of racism to think more clearly and organize together to end war. Participants will be introduced to
proven methods of working in pairs to overcome the mental and emotional harm
done by racism. Individual
workshops will be held for people from different backgrounds as appropriate
for the people attending the Forum.

3. Building Alliances Across National Lines
In this workshop, we will help people overcome the ways
in which nationalism, patriotism, and national oppressions interfere with
their ability to build strong alliances to end war. Building alliances
between people from different countries and backgrounds is an essential
component of ending war.

4. Building Alliances Between Jewish and Gentile
Activists
Anti-Jewish oppression (often called anti-Semitism) has
operated overtly and covertly in our societies for centuries. It has served as the template for
the oppression of, as well as a warning to, other groups. Confusion, and
sometimes conflict, between Jews and Gentiles often hinder activist work.
Learn how to create the conditions for Jewish and Gentile activists to work
effectively together.

5. Veterans and Allies In the Peace Movement
Veterans of war and military service have a powerful role
to play in the peace movement. This workshop is for both veterans and those
who want to work with veterans. It will enable people to work more
effectively with veterans in building a movement for ending war. All
veterans have both positive and negative effects from their military
service. We need a place to tell our stories, to celebrate the positive and
heal from the negative. An important part of dealing with our military
experience can be to get involved politically. However, most non-veterans
are not very skilled at working with veterans. We will use proven techniques
to give both veterans and non-veterans greater understanding of veterans and
how to work with us.
